This was a conversation I had with Erin a few days ago:
'Mummy, I don't like my name anymore, I want to change it'
'Why don't you like your name?'
'I just don't'
'Ok, what do you want to change it to?'
'Margaret!!'
It really took me by surprise, but at the same time, I couldn't stop laughing. I thought she was going to come out with something like Princess, but no, she picked Margaret!!
I asked her if we could shorten it to Maggie or Mags but she was adament that it was just Margaret.
It still makes me chuckle to think about it now.

DeleteWhere on earth has she come up with Margaret!? Sadly my daughter often wants to change her name to something like Chardonnay or Misty. *worries about future* ;)
ReplyDeleteThat is the kind of name I thought she'd come out with, but Margaret!! That made me laugh. The only explanation I can come up with is My gran's closest friend is called Margaret and Erin loves her, so it must have been in her little head when she blurted it out x
